About the Firm

Our Value Proposition

At James E. Davis, P.C., we believe it is reasonable for our clients to ask us "Why should we hire you?"  When they do, here are some of the things we say.

We expect to win.  Our clients deserve nothing less.

We have extensive litigation experience and a track record for good results.

We are honest with our clients.  Some cases are better than others.  We preliminarily assess the merits of our clients' claims or defenses before we agree to take a case. We discuss our assessment with our clients to ensure that we and they are on the same page before we move forward.  We do not promise what we cannot deliver.  If we think a case has little or no merit, we will say so.  We are not in the business to encourage clients to throw good money after bad.

We communicate with our clients and listen to what they have to say.  We answer the phone.  We answer emails.  We keep our clients posted regarding the developments in their case.  We solicit their input in connection with the preparation of our written work product, such as motions, briefs, and letters.  We know our clients are a valuable resource and we treat them that way.

We respect our clients.  We know their case is important to them.  We know they are relying on our professional judgment and hard work to protect their interests. We don't lose sight of why we are in this profession--to serve our clients.

We understand money does not grow on trees.  Anyone who has been involved in a lawsuit knows litigation can be very expensive.  At James E. Davis, P.C., we are highly-experienced professionals and our clients pay us accordingly; however, we still do what we can to ensure our clients get the maximum value for their investment in our services.  For example:

(i) to promote efficiency, we work with our clients at the beginning of a case to prepare a litigation plan that will achieve their goal within the constraints of their budget;

(ii) we do not over-staff our cases;

(iii) we avoid using multiple attorneys to accomplish tasks that a single attorney should be able to handle;

(iv) we avoid litigation activities that tend to inflate legal fees with little or no corresponding value to the client, such as discovery disputes; and

(v) we strive to get results using the least expensive means.
